We invite you to join us for Silken Twine Charity’s inaugural virtual run and walk, “Sophie’s Steps.”

Any time of day, go for a walk or run, be it around your home or in your neighborhood. Take some pictures and share them on the race website; even share your distances and times if you like as a screen shot (we recommend an app like Strava or Map My Run). Sophie’s Steps is a non-competitive event to show your support for children battling pediatric cancers and their families.
About Us
Silken Twine is a non-profit foundation committed to helping pediatric cancer patients and their families. In less than a year since its formation, Silken Twine has financially supported nearly two dozen families with various non-medical expenses such as food and groceries. Additionally, last month, Silken Twine distributed its first round of $1000 college scholarships to two accomplished and brave young cancer survivors.
“Sophie’s Steps” is named after our beloved Sophie Malaviya, who passed away in 2017 after a ten-year battle with pediatric cancer. On September 25th, just two days before the race, Sophie would have celebrated her 24th birthday. In her honor, Sophie’s family and friends founded Silken Twine to carry out her lifelong vision of assisting those in need.
Silken Twine believes that the foremost concern of the families of pediatric cancer patients should be to help their loved ones recover. All ticket proceeds will allow us to continue making this mission a reality and support even more families during this difficult time.
